DRUGS PRODUCTION CENTER
Under herbal drugs production, different forms of medicines like powders, Oil, extract etc are produced under high standards. The manufactured products are tested by qualified Doctors and then released for marketing. Mostly the produced medicines are sent to the village poor through SRDT to improve their health. The produced medicines are also sold locally for the mutual benefit of the society and the public.
For manufacturing and sale of herbal medicines, the society has its own drug licence for both Siddha and Ayurveda.
TRAINING PROGRAM ON MEDICINAL PLANTS:
The society has undertaking many training programs (Insitu and Exsitu) on medicinal plants in the field of plant identification (For school children), Herbarium preservations and botanical identification (For college students), Kitchen herbal garden (for women self help groups), Importance of herbal medicines (For the public), Usage of medicinal plant parts (For Nattivaidhyars) etc. An average of 5 training programs per month is regularly undertaken.
The training programs are undertaken freely and all the training materials, lectures both theoretically and practically, food and snacks etc all met by the society itself. Especially under kitchen herbal garden training program for the women groups, the plant saplings were distributed to the groups freely and demonstration of planting would be shown at their village level itself. Nearly 1500 Kitchen herbal gardens were formed at village level since 2000.
EXHIBITIONS:
Every year during Deepam festival, the society has organised big Herbal Exhibitions at their own premises for the benefit of the Pradakshana people during Full moon day Girivalam. During this exhibitions, free consultancy with distribution of herbal medicines (with a nominal cost), distribution of herbal drinks (also with a nominal cost) have undertaken by the members of the society. Small exhibitions are also undertaken during the full moon day of every month. The society has also exhibit their products in T.V.Malai and other districts of Tamilnadu along with other NGO's and also with Govt departments during exhibitions for the benefit of the public.
HERBAL TREATMENT FOR COMMON AILMENTS:
The society has also undertaking treatments for common ailments like poisonous bites, pain, head ache, stomach problems etc at their own premises with the help of the experienced nattuvaidyar. The treatment would be given free and the medicines were given with nominal cost. The nattivaidyar consultancy is always free for the benefit of the local people for all common ailments. For other ailments the patients are recommended to SRDT clinic for further treatment. For undertaking the above activities, two local nattivaidyars are given employment regulary.
RESEARCH PROGRAMS ON NEW HERBAL MEDICINES:
The society has also undertaken some useful researches with the support of the SRDT clinic Doctors on herbal medicines towards some critical ailments like Aids, Diabetes, Blood pressures, Joint pain etc. The produced research medicines are sent to the clinic and tested by the Doctors and recommended to the patients for their health care.
EXPORTS:
The society has initially exported some herbal medicines to other countries through proper export channel. Now the society is looking for some good export orders in future for the mutual benefit of the society and the country. This will be implemented only after solving all the export formalities and conditions. Apart from this the society has also provided some aid to the old people through SRDT. The workers are provided with good salary and other benefits. The society members honoured always for their valuable suggestions for the improvement of the society.
