Importants of Indian Medicines
In ancient days, before the introduction of Western medicines, the Indian medicines (Siddha, Ayurveda and unani) were the only sources to cure most of the diseases. The Siddhar’s and the Traditional Doctors (Local Nattuvaidhyars) are the founders of the most of the herbal formulations.
According to the proverb “food is the medicine”, the food habit of our ancestors was coincided with the natural herbs. Because of this the average age limit of our ancestors was above 80. But now a days due to the change of the food habit and lack of intake of natural herbs, the average age limits comes down to below 60.
The Indian Medicines are always unique because of its various advantages like Complete curable with no side effects, no medicine can compete like Phyllanthus amarus (Kilanelli) for jaundice, intake as food (eg. Curry leaves, papaya etc)
